Marketing

Key Insights**:**

  1. We’re succeeding in a number of areas, whether that be our testnet or pure core-tech progression, yet no-one is talking about us, as we’d like.
  2. The route and reasoning to join us (Whether that be as a developer, testnet validator, community member or otherwise) is not clear.
  3. The majority of our marketing output is insular in nature, focussing on community and specific technical updates around our development. It is not focussed on the market nor industry as a whole.
  4. The marketing has excelled at putting together the testnet event, with large numbers of active participants.
  5. The marketing provides immense social proof and gives the basis for scaling and further distribution.
  6. The marketing successfully captures the ‘Build in public’ ethos which has ultimately left a paper trail of activities from the start.

The distribution problem and social media

As the adage goes, everything is about timing.

It could be argued that for the most part, the simple reason why we’re not getting ‘picked up’ and shared is simply due to the lack of narrative around ETH staking and the merge as a whole, as the market focussed on gaming, L1’s and DAOs.

For the staking chatter that did occur, it was solely around ways to make financial gains from said staking. Hence why most of the talk goes towards the folks at projects such as Lido.
